An extensive planning process led by the State of Montana and the FAA, it was determined the town of West Yellowstone and the west entry to Yellowstone National Park could support a full service airport. A comprehensive Master Planning Team worked for two years to establish parameters and goals.
The new terminal was designed and built for the West Yellowstone community and visitors to Yellowstone National Park/Big Sky, Montana. It was completed and opened for first flights in 2025.
The airport is seasonal, however, it is now served by two major airlines connecting directly to Salt Lake City and Denver.
