Canyon Village Redevelopment Project included the removal of over 400 existing older cabins that were replaced with five sustainably built lodges. The project was completed in two phases. Phase I consisted of three lodges that were completed in the Fall of 2015. Phase II consisted of two lodges that were completed in the Fall of 2016.

The strategy of adding air conditioning to the central lodges reception area in Washburn Lodge resulted in the predicted use of more energy. Therefore, that building did not earn Gold as did the other four, naturally ventilated lodges.
