The five-story Element hotel has 104 rooms in downtown Bozeman. Element is the eco-conscious brand of Connecticut-based Starwood Hotels, and the Bozeman hotel is the company's first property in Montana.†This hotel†is the first LEED-certified hotel in the state.

The site was the former Kenyon-Noble lumber yard and diversion of deconstruction waste was a priority of the contractor. The site was chosen as it is directly across the street from the City of Bozeman Parking Garage. A major public bus stop is also located directly across the street.

From sustainable design to eco-friendly practices and programs, the project focus was to build a smarter, better place to stay. Element hotels must comply with the mandates of high performance green buildings, resulting in a cleaner, healthier place for both guests and associates and a more sustainable environment for the earth.

Eco-friendly materials must be incorporated in the Element design whenever possible: rooms feature carpets with up to 100% recycled content, wall art is mounted on a base made from recycled tires, and low VOC (volatile organic compounds) paints improve indoor air quality.

Element was built to conserve without compromising performance. Low-flow faucets and fixtures help save water, compact fluorescent light bulbs use about 75% less energy than standard incandescent bulbs, and energy-efficient appliances use approximately 30% less energy.

Element reduces waste wherever possible: silverware and glassware are available in guest rooms instead of plastic utensils and paper cups, filtered drinking water eliminates the need for plastic bottles, and all natural bathroom amenities are stored in a dispenser system instead of disposable bottles.

Element offers a visible recycling programóbins are located in every guestroom and common areas of the hotel, including the lobby and Motion fitness center.
