Human Factors Study

"Human Centered Sustainable Design: The Consilience of Design, the Needs of People and Science" was co-authored and published in 2003.  The co-authors were Jonathan C. Weiss, Kath Williams, and Judity Heerwagen.

The scholastic paper's content built upon E.O Wilson's 1998 book, Consilience, and served as a primer on human psychology and behavior in the built environment. Case studies cited included the Chesapeake Bay Foundation (1st LEED Platinum), Incara Pharmaceuticals/RTP, Development Resource Center, and the National Wildlife Federation Building.

The project was presented at the Laboratories for the 21st Century Conference, October 7-9, 2002 in Durham, North Carolina.
